Because success isn’t just about working harder. It’s about believing in your worth and charging accordingly. And that starts with breaking free from the scarcity mindset. "Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success."— Albert Schweitzer
We’ve all heard it before at some point:
“The best way to get people to pay more for your services is to increase the value.”
As if what you’re already doing isn’t enough.
Maybe they’re right—kind of.
Most business owners struggle to charge what they’re worth because they don’t truly believe in their value.
And if you don’t see it, how can you expect others to?
Sometimes, it takes an outside perspective to recognize and embrace your true worth.
If you can’t imagine paying that much for your own services, chances are you won’t pay more for others’ either—out of fear of losing money.
This fear creates a vicious cycle: undervaluing yourself attracts clients who undervalue your services.
You start undercharging, over-delivering, and resenting the process. Sound familiar?
But what if I told you that breaking free starts with shifting your mindset from scarcity to abundance?
A few years ago, I was having lunch with my friend Steve and our buddy Sam.
The waitress handed us the menu, and Steve and I chose our meals without even glancing at the prices. (We were fresh out of college in Kenya—so that was a big deal!)
We cared more about enjoying our meal than worrying about the cost.
After a fantastic meal, we left a generous tip without thinking twice.
Sam, however, was baffled. (By the way, Sam is doing wonderfully today… no shade!)
He couldn’t understand why we didn’t check the prices first or why we’d leave such a big tip.
Most people believe you need abundance to be generous.
But the truth is—you need generosity to attract abundance.
I had learned long before that moment that you attract who you are.
When you walk through life expecting the worst, guess what?
You attract the worst.
But when you embrace generosity and confidence in your value—whether in yourself or others—you make room for abundance to flow.
The scarcity mindset doesn’t just hold you back in business—it holds you back in life.
The more you embrace generosity and recognize value, the more you'll attract the clients and opportunities that reflect it.
So, what will you choose today—fear or abundance?
The choice is yours.
